Frozen Berry Dairy-Free Smoothie

Creamy and delicious shakes don’t have to include dairy. And our Frozen Berry Dairy-Free Smoothie is a prime example! This dairy-free smoothie can be used as a meal replacement shake in the morning or as a pick-me-up in the afternoon.

The healthy smoothie ingredients in our no-dairy frozen berry smoothie are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and both soluble and insoluble fiber. With the frozen berries and the frozen banana, most blenders won’t struggle to break down the oats. However, if this healthy fall smoothie recipe delivers a texture that is not to your liking, pulse the oats in a food processor before adding to the smoothie.

Health Benefits
  1. Blueberries and blackberries: are summertime favorites, and berries are now available year-round in the freezer section. These berries are excellent sources of polyphenols that researchers believe protect against cancer, diabetes, heart disease, neurodegenerative diseases, and osteoporosis.

  2. Oats: have been shown to reduce cholesterol when eaten regularly because of their high levels of soluble and insoluble fiber. Oats are also a great source of thiamine, phosphorus, magnesium, and zinc. Zinc is an excellent addition to a healthy fall smoothie recipe as it has been shown by researchers to reduce the severity of cold symptoms and the duration of a cold.

  3. Bananas: are an excellent source of potassium, and they provide a creamy texture to this dairy-free smoothie. Potassium plays a significant role in regulating blood pressure and blood flow. Bananas are also packed with fiber that can make you feel fuller longer, giving this healthy shake its satiating power.

  4. Cashew milk: is a low-calorie nut milk that delivers protein and heart-healthy unsaturated fats. Choose unsweetened cashew milk to avoid excess calories.

  5. Lucuma powder: is a natural sweetener from Peru. Research is virtually non-existent at this time for its purported health benefits, but it is lower in calories than white sugar, and it is considered a low-glycemic sweetener perfect for keeping blood sugar levels from spiking.
