Rich and Creamy Vegan Fitness Smoothie

For our Rich and Creamy Vegan Fitness Smoothie, we combined nutrient-dense ingredients to create a post-workout smoothie that will promote muscle growth and speed your recovery so you’re ready to tackle whatever lies ahead of you.

Matcha, which tastes as fresh and green as it looks, helps your body burn fat instead of storing it. Plus, it can encourage healthy weight loss and raise your energy levels. Almond butter seriously ups the protein content of your recovery smoothie while providing an abundance of healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. And pepitas, pumpkin seeds with their white outer shell stripped off, are antioxidant-rich and boost your health on a multitude of levels.

  • 1/4 cup almond butter powder

  • 1 tablespoon pepitas

  • 1/2 cup almond milk

  2. Add 1 tablespoon of matcha green tea powder.

  3. Measure and add 1/4 cup of pistachios and 1/4 cup of almond butter powder.

  4. Sprinkle on 1 tablespoon of pepitas.

  5. Pour in a 1/2 cup of almond milk.

  6. Blend until you have a thick, creamy smoothie perfect for powering you up after a hard work

Health Benefits
  1. Plantain: helps you get the micronutrients you need to properly recover from your workouts, like vitamin A, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6, vitamin C, and folate. Plus, the starch found in plantains will help you gain muscle.

  2. Matcha: is a green tea powder with an exceptionally high nutrient content, since it contains the leaves typically discarded during the tea-making process. Scientists have found matcha can allow your body to burn more fat, facilitate healthy weight loss, and increase your energy levels.

  3. Pistachios: are an excellent source of potassium, which your body loses through sweat when you exercise. We need potassium, which is both a mineral and an electrolyte, for proper muscle and nerve function. This mineral also balances blood pressure levels and keeps us hydrated.

  4. Almond butter powder and almond milk: are both made from almonds, which are loaded with protein, healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Adding almond butter powder to your post-workout smoothie is a great way to up its protein content, and the powder blends more smoothly than a standard nut butter. And while the nutritional content of almond milk depends on how many almonds it contains, it’s always a great way to add plant-based creaminess to your vegan smoothie.

  5. Pepitas: are shell-less pumpkin seeds high in protein, healthy fats, vitamin K, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, and manganese. Add nutrient-dense pepitas to your recovery smoothie for a boost of energy.
